TRIPLEX MODEL SHOE
We were require to make an accurate triplex model of a shoe of your choice. Using glue and triplex, there were three sectors regarding the project, the full shoe, half and shoe and a mold of the shoe. Scale and detail we extremely important. We gained knowledge about paying attention to detail, patience and scale as well as neatness and presentation.
Activity 1 : Full Model Shoe
constructing the shoe was a process and involved a lot of planning in advance. To give the soul support it was important to add some structure on the inside. the shape of the shoe became difficult around the corners when trying to make it neat and realistic.
Activity 2 : Half shoe model
We were required to construct a replica of half a shoe and focus on displaying the details and features more. This was a challenge since you had to imagine the shoe being cut in half and you had to create a model with no proper reference.
Activity : 3 Shoe mold
Our final replica was a mold for the shoe. This was similar to the half shoe but a lot more challenging. I found this replica to be the hardest, especially with no reference photo. Every detail of the shoe had to be inverted.
